Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The third episode concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the initial group of heroes who will separate from the primary party to embark on their own adventure, separate from the remaining groups.
This warrior group consists of the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Given an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that having everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, connecting the characters’ stories before branching into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Schemers, and Questers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
According to the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for participants who prefer a traditionally charged battle-oriented story mode where non-violent answers are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might seem out of place, but the actions of the latest installment make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
First, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a violent first encounter with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—used the foes for his own means, entering the hidden lair, striking Thimble, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The traitor then settled his liabilities and ran away to a secure base in the northern region, above the urban center, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each adventurer has a individual motive to exit the urban setting:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, seeks vengeance.
- The adventurer has experience in the northern area and warns that it is a nasty environment.
- The warrior and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their reputation as important members in House Halovar could help the team access places they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character vowed a life debt to The savior for his rescue and will now go with him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are sought by the authorities that govern the city for a range of causes, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The rogue and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The cleric turned against the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the clan.
This results in them few options but to head to the northern region in search of the antagonist.
Future Episodes
According to the recent installment’s follow-up content, we discover that the combat party will not appear the following episode, leaving the other eight participants to form the Explorers and Strategists tables.
Audiences can expect finding out which characters will be where in the story’s concluding setup installment, released on next week.
